'things I love' thursday

Today I love the documentary Tapped
                     Taylor calling me Pattie Pie
Watching the gold fish in the pond
Getting text messages from my brother
                     The scent of Spring
                     Yogurt covered pretzels
Waking with a mind filled with new ideas to create
                     Not buying bottled water
Knowing I can wear flip flops again – soon
That my rose bushes didn’t die this winter
                     Eating turnip
      What do you love today?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Feeling filled with happy energy today.
Last night I did no work … relaxed, drank wine, read, and talked on the phone with my friends. I didn’t realize how much I needed a ‘just about me’ evening. Back to it today.
I have told you all about my seeds [now becoming seedlings] – and I think I will put my gardening experience here – once a week – it will be an experiment for me, and succeed or fail … we can all learn something – maybe.
I have a green thumb when it comes to indoor plants and flowering outdoor plants. Last year was my first year [in a very long time] of a real, in the ground, vegetable garden. I had minimal success. It looked pretty. I had quite a bit of zucchini, some tomatoes, a few green peppers, a few cucumbers and lots of green beans. I learned mostly what not to do this year … that is a start. This year I started earlier – everything from seed [many of which I saved from local/organic veggies]. I hope you’ll enjoy this garden journaling with me. I will post [and photos] on Thursdays so we can see the progress. Hoping for an abundance of veggies to eat and to share.
The garden is cleared of winter debris and ready for plants – as soon as the plants are ready to go in. It could freeze here again before true Spring comes, so the seeds are all in pots for now – so I can easily cover and/or move them inside if needed.
So we will start with week 2 plants [not all of the seeds that I planted 2 weeks ago have sprouted – these 4 have] – I am very excited … I so want to grow most of my food.

tomatoes WEEK TWO

 cucumbers

 mixed greens WEEK TWO

peas WEEK TWO

Sharing …
This morning I read this on a Facebook post and thought it should be shared – more and more – by Rev. Diannia Baty – she said feel free to share … so please do that if you like.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL OF MY FACE BOOK FRIENDS AND FAMILY! WAKE UP OR SHUT UP! Rev. Diannia Baty Okay, it is time to stop all the finger pointing about what was done to you or your ancestors. This kind of stuff will only hold you back from being the spiritually loving soul you are supposed to be. I have to tell you that I am so over it all. It is downright crazy to do this. There are some that think that because of what Japan has done in the past or what a Prime Minister may have said that they don't deserve any help. If this were true then none of us would deserve to be helped. Really, are you serious? Since the dawn of time we have been fighting, killing and enslaving each other.

A spiritually aware person knows better than to spread more dissension and anger through their words. I am Cherokee Indian mostly and my ancestors suffered a lot at the hands of men and government but I have let it go in the history books as something that should never happen again. The Jewish people suffered the through Hitler and his reign of terror. Even in ancient Egypt there were slaves. How are we ever going to go forward with this kind of thinking and anger spreading message. You know who you are and I am asking you with all the love I have in my heart to STOP IT!

This is the time for love, understanding and compassion. If you needed a heart transplant, would you ask the surgeon if the heart came from a white, black, Jewish, Mexican, Catholic etc. person before you agreed to the surgery? More than likely you wouldn't. Put down the swords and stop spreading hate. Funny thing is God doesn't care what your ancestors did. God is concentrating on you! Got it? I hope so. Now go play nice with the other kids! www.makeachoicenow.com

I hope everyone is getting ready for a beautiful weekend.
The weather, here in North Carolina, is supposed to be perfect.
And as we let our own light shine,
we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same

Until tomorrow xo♥

  1. I can't wait to read your gardening journal entries. I'm sad we won't have a garden this year. There is always next year though!
