a perfect Thursday

I have been continuing on this whole Direction thing … and loving it.  This new phase of my life – my new life operation – is going quite well.
With the exception of my being too too cold in this winter weather, life is absolutely amazing. While I haven’t been writing here as I want/should … I have been writing much. Putting the finishing touches on a new piece of work – the spiritual journey I never imagined. Even if it doesn’t prove to be a piece many enjoy [which I hope isn’t true], it was an amazing journey and I enjoyed reveling in the remembering as I wrote. I may [as confidence allows] share some here.

The Christmas tree is up and looking [if I do say so myself] perfect.
The stockings are hung from the bookshelf with care – awaiting the fam
      to  be home soon …

Outside lights are quite nice –

  We are having our first
PatriciaA Wearable Art home party next Wednesday night – excited

Holiday gifts are almost all made … at least all figured out – yeah

My school kids are [as always] completely amazing

Dodge is growing into her beauteous self. Finally  barking – yeah – and
doing so well with training. She is almost walking comfortably on a leash –
sits, stays, comes when called … we are doing well. Lewis is extremely
upset with me – as I have created a collar from which he can not escape …

  Christmas cactus is blooming beautifully

Above are the highlights of recent … I have been extremely busy [happy, happy busy] working, creating, writing, doing my most fun work at the food bank,  and selling lots of garden signs – check them out – seems people think they are a great holiday gift … love that … great holiday gifts – I’d love it if you would take a look.

I love Mondays

When I was five years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down ‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life.       John Lennon

Direction is my ‘word of the week’ … I have been moving [sometimes quite slowly] in a new live direction. Never quite certain [as there are so many paths I would love to experience] which way I am going. I have been [so] loving the newness of my life here lately. Meditating more, spending more time doing what I want to do … It is strange to live alone [lovely strange] … well, of course I have the pups and Karma … but this is the first time in a gazillion years I have lived alone. Even after my personal kids spread their wings and left the nest, there were always school kids spending many days/nights here. It feels like I am reacquainting myself with myself. If that makes sense???
This stone/rock that I have had for many years, has been having new meaning lately. The word on one side, and the labyrinth on the other. Love it

Monday has always been my fav day of the week … and lately, even more so. Working at the food bank is definitely a highlight of the week. It is emotional, sometimes, though feeling like you are helping others – if even for just a bit – makes the spirit smile.

Puppy training is going well with Dodge. She is less skittish, seems to enjoy being with humans now, and not even one accident in the home. She is still very leery of the leash business … we practice every day for a few minutes. She is walking for a few minutes before digging her heels in and stopping. She makes me smile. Life is so good. She is a delight … I am not too sure how she will react when she is ‘an only pup’, when Taylor and Caleb take Lewis and Nora back with them.

What else? … I am finding it a challenge to take time to write … even though I so love it. And, do love staying in touch with my babbling. Tonight – my only TV night – Dancing with the Stars … so I must go and get ready to watch what I wish I could do … I hope everyone is having a beautiful start to a wonderful week.

Oh … Scrabble on the IPAD is taking up much of my time … addicted … I haven’t read a book in days. Crazy … so much fun.

Much new PatriciaA news coming soon … many new plans in the works … I am excited. I’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, Please visit my etsy shop as you begin to think of holiday gift giving –

fabulous friday

"If you plan for a year, plant rice. If your plan is for a hundred years, educate your children." Confucius.

What an amazing week. I hope you all had an amazing week, too. People say that as we get older, time flies by so quickly … I like to think of it as ‘time flies when you are having fun’ … this was a week of much fun. Getting in the holiday spirit is great. It usually annoys me to see holiday ‘stuff’ in the stores before Halloween, though this year it seems to have aided my jump in to the holiday spirit.

Last evening, Brad had his first glass lesson – and we fired up the kiln – so exciting to watch, wait, watch … and see if what we had pictured really turned out. I was excited with my first few pieces. And, I am certain Brad will be happy when he sees his.

Reading my dear friend, Amy’s, blog - reminded me of the joy of cooking. I love to cook/create meals. I am already thinking of the menu for the Christmas holidays. Last night I made a very yummy [if I do say so myself] pot roast with tons of veggies. Cherie, Brad and I ate a lovely dinner before tackling our first glass project. It is time to start creating new soups and ... lots of breads.

I do not do too well selling myself  - so, Cherie is doing that job for me – and doing a fabulous job. She has begun visiting stores, boutiques, shops – and in the next few days many will be carrying a line of PatriciaA wearable art – I am so excited.

superb sunday

One of my favorite days of the year ... Gaining an hour. So silly, really.
Though, I always feel it is such a gift.

It seems I have recovered my voice - time to start babbling again. For the past
couple of months, I have been on a quiet (solemn) phase of my spiritual/life
journey.  I think of it as being on intake mode, rather than output. Daily,
conscious practice of being in each moment. Reading, cooking, quietly creating,
watching BBC shows, cleaning out closets and sorting through all of the 'stuff'
I no longer need, and generally (specifically) soaking up all around me.

New job is going so well. Being back working with young children for part of my
week, has been so great. Every moment is a teaching moment with the 'little

Beautiful fall day here today - has me filled with outside work energy. The
patio is clean and ready for fall/winter kiln projects - I'm very excited about
that. Gardens look sad, but at least they are trimmed back and ready to rest
until spring. The fish are slowing down, preparing themselves for winter
hibernation. It always amazes me, watching them completely still in their little
pockets of ice until the spring thaw.

lewis loves sitting by the fire
 one last yellow rose
 fall daisies everywhere
 i love the red leaves

I hope everyone is enjoying autumn … I am loving it, in the afternoon; mornings are already too cold for me …
I have missed my daily sharing here ... thank you all so much for your emails and notes - made me feel good, in my quiet time, that you were thinking of me ... xxxooo
Life is so good.

until tomorrow xo
